Department of General Medicine at Maharaja Agrasen Hospital is the largest department of the hospital consisting of 2 Medicine Units. Each one of the unit being headed by a Sr. Consultant of repute with vast in the field of medicine and have publications in several national and international journals & are faculty members in various conferences and seminars.

Associate Consultants in each unit form the backbone of the department and are highly experienced in managing all emergency & critical life threatening situations. Their round the clock availability in the hospital premises gives timely help in saving lives.

Most number of beds in the hospital are occupied by medical patients and maximum numbers of patients in General OPD are seen by Physicians. We get referred patients from hospitals and Nursing Home from Delhi and adjoining states. We stand as a tertiary care centre for Critical ill patients like Septic Shock, MODS, Poisoning, Respiratory failure, Strokes, etc.

The department is backed by 20 bedded medical ICU which has round the clock intensivists (Critical Care Specialist) to look after these patients. With epidemic of dengue fever each year, our department treated huge number of these patients, many of were critically ill, were referred from various centres of Delhi. With well equipped 24*7 Blood Centre facilities for component therapy and lab support, majority of these patients have favourable outcome. Out department has grown vastly in last 7 years and we look forward to further expansion and growth.
